Saturday

Only 2 days left…

Pray that God will help the counselors make the most of the time and really pursue the students and their hearts.

Pray that God will work through His Word and help the counselors know to dig deep into students hearts and point them to Christ.

Tomorrow is our last full day and we head back to Anchorage on various flights on Monday.

Friday at Camp

Today has been a good day so far. Today’s chapel focus has been relationships with siblings. Tonight I will be preaching in Joseph an his brothers and how Jesus is not ashamed to call us brothers.

The staff is really pursuing the students and God is working in many hearts. Pray for Kayla and Kara, who have decided to put their hope and trust in Christ. Pray for the students who still seem hard.

today’s afternoon activity was a hike to the waterfall and tubing behind the boat. Here are some more pics.

Wednesday at Camp

This morning we spent about 3 hours in teams doing team building challenges. these sometimes stressful and challenging situations provided opportunity to learn more about the campers and for the staff to learn more about themselves. Pray that the staff will capitalize on these in follow-up conversations.

The staffis doing great and starting to really connect with the student. One girl has already told us that she doesn’t think she is a Christian, but thinks she wants to be. Pray that her counselor, Lauren, will be able to have an opportunity to really unwrap the Gospel for her.

Here are a few more pics.

Preparation Day at Camp

yesterday, the team spent the day preparing for the campers arrival. After worshiping with the beleivers here in Port Alsworth, we spent the afternoon preparing the cabins and helping out around camp. We hiked 3 miles up to Tanalian Falls and roasted hot dogs over the fire at the base of the water falls. We spent a little more time in prayer together and had a great time hiking and growing closer as a team on the way back. Today, our campers arrive and the staff is expectantly waiting for the camp to really start.

Pray for this first day of really trying to get to know the campers.

Prep Day in Anchorage

Today is prep day before we head out to camp tomorrow. We got a good nights rest and then did some shopping at Sportmans Warehouse this morning (it’s like Bass Pro Shop on steroids). Afterward we went to do some yardwork and heavy lifting for my brother-in-law and his neighbor. We just ate lunch and are hanging out at our Anchorage house. We will probably go hiking tonight and spend more time in prayer and preparation tonight.

Here are some if the guys playing a little ping pong.

enjoying lake clark

Today has been great! The whole camp hiked to the waterfall and then went to the lake for tubing and wakeboarding.

Continue to pray that God gives the leaders strength and perseverence for the rest of the week. Several students have talked about getting the gospel for the first time. Pray that this is real heart change.

Day 2 of camp!

All 65 of the Jr high students arrived in planes yesterday. We had a great 1st day getting to know the students. Some of them were a little shy the 1st day, but many haves warmed up by now. For the 1st part of the week we have been going through the gospel. I have covered all the way up to the sin problem. Tonight, we will be focusing on the hope that is possible because of God’s offer to restore us. Pray that God will work in the students hearts and help them to see their separation from God as a bad thing and want to be reconciled to Him.

Pray also for our team to have strength and energy for a full week ahead!

Ken
